The Society ~ Member Statement
A Cry From the Heart Society
I:
- Hope I know what I know and know why I know it.
- Hope I know what I believe and why I believe it.
- Hope my acts are moving me toward the person I want to become.
- Know that some days will be better than others. I know perseverance is our response to challenges to my will. I know to endure with grace events over which I have no control.
- am kind to persons I meet because I know everyone is fighting this great battle.
- Know it is unacceptable behavior to impose my will on another.
- Know that a force, not within finite nature, cannot be a fact in the human mind.
- Know that a force, not within finite nature, can only be a unique personal belief.
- Know that organized religions are defined by and exist because of man made dogma.
- Know science cannot know all variables in the universe; therefore its findings aren’t Truth/Fact.
- Know our human condition limits what we know and understand. Believing this reality, my decision making ability to act at the cutting edge of now is problematic. Being aware of my condition, and believing it to be true for all, makes humility with others a natural result.
- Know the society is not a religion because it does not ask for money nor espouse a Divine being.
- Know the society is not a business because it does not make a profit nor own assets.
- Exist for the sole purpose of explaining why these statements can be helpful in living satisfying productive lives in this multi-cultural society we call earth.
- Believe persons who believe in god(s) can live in peace with all persons on the planet by inculcating the values of these statements into their life. Believers will also be fulfilling the requirements of most dogma of most religions. These statements also respect the values and personhood of non-believers who can choose to rise above the need to defend their right to live their life.
- Have no right to cause another person to act in a manner that is pleasing to me.
- Do not believe I have to be perfect to live my life. First, no other person has the right to define what is perfect, and second, our human condition does not seem to provide us with the ability to be consistent in living by any standard. If a person with a critical spirit gets into a blame and shame game I feel sadness for them in not understanding what I have come to know as my reality of life.
